2012/09 Baker/Kookipi trips - Karen's family's visit |

Since coming back from the big trip, I’d been feeling in good shape but then one day I was wire-brushing a table to get the rust off. The angle must have been just wrong and I felt my back go out. I managed to finish the job and repainted the table but by the end of the day I was stuck to the couch and stayed there for the next week or so.

While they were gone we set about fixing up out largest flower bed in the back garden, rooting out the grass, bringing in topsoil, covering it with fabric, and adding some more plants. I was still injured so Sandie did almost all the work. We still need to bring up a few hundred rocks from the river bed to stabilize the fabric.
By this time we were into some beautiful weather with lots of calm and sunny days. We found the perfect blackberrying spot, on a quiet stretch of road in Rosedale and came away with about ten pounds.
