Saturday August 27th
We went back over the Hump to Rathtrevor Beach, a provincial park on the east coast. We’d arranged to meet up there with Wendy and Pam for lunch, but Wendy thought we were going to meet after lunch. So we had a couple of hours to kill there until they showed up. It was a nice spot to wait, a great flat sandy beach with the peaks of the Coast Mountains on the horizon. It was warm and very windy.

We started on the sand but the tide comes in so fast there that we had to retreat to the pile of logs at the high tide mark. Evan was too busy with shovel and bucket to eat or drink. The ladies were plotting their “ladies in the tub” weekend for the upcoming December. After finalizing the plans at Tim Horton’s we returned to Port Alberni on a dark, wet evening
