The next few days are rather hazy, as I was back to work on Monday morning, and didn't get to see the kids until Monday evening. They'd had a good time at horse camp. The house was in reasonable shape, with a few things broken, but probably not much more than if we'd been there. The cat and turtle had both survived, and the cat made it clear that we were not to go away and leave her again. The flowers had all survived, as the weather had been even wetter than ours. The back yard looked ready for harvesting, but the society for the protection of toads (Edna) insisted that we not mow it yet.

John and Edna were packing their suitcases and adding more stuff to their souvenirs. John cleaned the trailer for us, scraping off a million squashed bugs. We all went out to eat at Bakers Square. Also did some barbecuing to use up leftover steak from the trip (yes, we were really roughing it on the trip). The kids took John off to the YMCA and wore him out in the pool and on the new slide.
