FAMILY VERSION

It’s a ten hour trip to Toronto and we arrived just after 6 am, on a crisp sunny day with fresh white snow, about -10C, definitely cooler than Santiago.  Our connecting flight wasn’t until 8 pm, one of the penalties of using air miles.

However, I’d earlier contacted my cousin , who works in Toronto, and suggested we meet for lunch.  She replied that she wouldn’t be working, as this was Ontario’s Family Day, and offered instead to take us to her place in Hamilton for lunch with the family.

We appreciated everyone’s efforts in turning what would have been a very boring day at the airport into a really special Family Day.

We arrived in Vancouver just after ten, picked up the Jeep from Park’n’fly, and were home by 1 am, a soggy drive but no snow around.

Home looked to be in good shape, except for a branch down and crushing the fence.

It had been a wonderful trip, complicated with 20000 miles, twenty take-offs and landings, and a number of bus and boat trips, but we’d been very lucky and had remarkably few problems.
