We headed south through Griffith and then picked up the Newell Hwy again to get to Tocumwal, our first campsite on our way north.

The Murray was still high with water covering the banks in places.

Tocumwal (2.14)

We were able to drive down on the Victoria side to the higher banks for lunch, but I had to walk down to the water’s edge.

I disturbed a big congregation of corellas and cockatoos; it was very noisy and busy while they all screamed at the intrusion and flew in circles.

From there it was a quick run past Numurkah to Shepparton to visit family.
