The plan for the day was to take a cruise on the Grand River, the same river we’d seen on our drive,
We shared our boat with the ladies of the Red Hat Society, bedecked in their red hats and purple dresses, rather like a flock of exotic cockatoos, and about as noisy. We kept our distance.
The cruise included a great violin and spoons performance by Blazing Fiddles and a very substantial three course lunch. The cruise was good too, a very sedate trip up the wide river past meadows, golden trees, splendid houses and churches, and even some tipis on the reservation.
