Thursday 1st July
Thursday was Canada Day and a holiday in Canada. We spent the day in the Sooke area, with Wendy as tour guide and Karen as chauffeur. We went to Sooke Potholes park, where the river drops down the mountain in a series of pools and cascades. It’s a great place for teenagers to float down and generally have fun and damage themselves. We were a bit more sedate, but still enjoyed the scenery. I climbed back up the canyon a way to try to get pictures, but the river was mostly too far below me, hidden under the rocks.
