This was the first of our trip letters to include colour pictures. However, the pictures in the orignal letter were scanned and digitized by the developers of the film. Their scans were low resolution and not suitable for large format displays. In most cases, we still have the original slides or negatives, so the plan is to replace and augment the pictures in a future update to this letter. |
Dear All,
I wrote Wednesday November 8th down as the day I started this, but I’m not really sure. It might be Thursday, as we’re crossing the date line about now. The only thing we’re sure of is that it’s a long night! When you fly west at night time dawn has a hard job catching up. We’re doing at least 500 mph and the world’s turning at 1000 mph, so dawn’s only going at half speed and the night’s twice as long.
