2007/06 BC trip - McLean Mill |
|||
We were off on a train trip to the McLean Mill. We’ve all been there before, but there’s plenty to see. This time we were lucky enough to be pulled by their steam engine, which had been under repair on our last trip. It hauled us through town, with lots of whistling at the road crossings, and then through the forest up to the mill.
We toured around the mill at our own speed, watched the musical show, watched the cutting of a tree into planks, and, this was new, crawled in and out of tipis. The Indians in that area never had tipis but the Metis, Indian/French crossbreeds from the prairies, were there for some celebration.
